WHAT IS ROLFING
Rolfing, also known as Structural Integration, is a hands-on deep-tissue bodywork and movement education. It is used to increase a person's range of motion, correct poor posture, enhance lightness and freedom in the body, elevate energy, and reduce or eliminate aches and pains. Rolfing is named after American biochemist Dr Ida Rolf who developed the method over 40 years ago.
WHO CAN BENEFIT?
Everyone! People come to Rolfing for a wide variety of reasons. Many of the most common complaints such as back pain, repetitive strain injury, lack of mobility, poor posture, headaches and general lack of energy are often the result of poor structural organisation and respond very well to Rolfing. Whilst some people come to Rolfing just because they "don't feel right".
"Structural Integration ( Rolfing ) is amazing. It decreases or eliminates pain by releasing muscular tightness and connective tissue restrictions. Rolfing leaves the body balanced and in natural alignment. I recommend Rolfing for everyone, the benefits are too numerous to list." ~ Dr. Nancy Wardle M.D.
ATHLETES AND ROLFING
Enhance, Recover, Prevent.
More and more sports enthusiasts and athletes are using Rolfing to compliment and enhance their training regime. Rolfing has helped speed recovery times and can be used as a preventative therapy.
"I can push myself harder and recover faster. I strongly believe this is due to the alignment I have achieved through Rolfing." - Brent Seabrook, Chicago Blackhawks, NHL, Stanley Cup Champion, 2010 Team Canada Mens Olympic Hockey Gold Medalist
"I started the 10 series with no injuries. I thought that I was healthy and my body was feeling good. Teammates however assured me that I could feel even greater. I was impressed just how much better I felt after each of the sessions. I can now honestly say that I feel loose, light, energized, aligned and functioning to my full ability and power."
- Troy Brouwer, Washington Capitals, NHL, Stanley Cup Champion
"After undergoing surgery my shoulder was stiff and sore, and I was told that I would never regain full range of motion. After only a few sessions my shoulder is pain free and I have full range of motion once again. I strongly recommend seeing Tyler not only for post injury treatment, but also for preventative therapy."
- Alex Burrows, Vancouver Canucks, NHL

ROLFING VS. MASSAGE
Massage is designed to decrease muscle pain and tension, increase circulation, and produce a sense of well-being. Its goal is relaxation and generally works with the muscular system.
The goal of Rolfing is to improve posture and flexibility, increase range of motion of the joints and spine, educate clients in movement and self-awareness. Rolfing breaks down scar tissue and old holding patterns, correcting bad postures that cause harm and chronic pain. Rolfing works with the connective tissue, which gives your body shape and support.
